Cristiano Ronaldo says he remains fully committed to competing at the highest level as he continues his campaign with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, despite approaching the closing stages of his career. The 41-year-old forward was speaking after his side strengthened their position at the top of the table with a win over Al Ahli.
Ronaldo, who has spent over two decades at elite level across Europe and now in Saudi Arabia, said his motivation extends beyond personal milestones. “I keep playing not only for this generation, but also for the previous one and the one coming next,” he told CanalGoatBr.
He added that his focus remains on consistency and results rather than longevity alone. “I enjoy it day by day, game by game, year by year, even as I get closer to the end of my career. That’s a fact.”
Al Nassr’s recent form has put them in a strong position in the Saudi Pro League standings. Ronaldo played a key role in the latest result, scoring in a 2-0 victory that moved the club closer to the title.
The forward emphasised that winning remains his primary objective. “My career has been brilliant and I want to keep it that way,” he said. “I still enjoy it, I keep scoring goals… but above all, it’s about winning. And we really want to win the league.”
Al Nassr are currently leading the table, holding an advantage over second-placed Al Ahli, who still have a game in hand. The gap has strengthened belief within the squad that they can secure the title this season.
Ronaldo’s career has included spells at clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, where he established himself as one of the game’s leading forwards. He continues to contribute regularly, both in terms of goals and overall influence on the pitch.
While he has not outlined a specific timeline for retirement, Ronaldo indicated that his immediate focus remains unchanged. He continues to balance performance with experience, aiming to contribute to his team’s success while maintaining his standards.
His remarks also reflected a broader outlook on his role in football, with an emphasis on connecting different generations of players and supporters.
