Chattogram Royals defeated Noakhali Express with a commanding performance in the latest BPL 2026 encounter. A stunning bowling spell from Shoriful Islam played a decisive role in the Royals’ victory, as Noakhali failed to find answers against him. He picked up a brilliant five-wicket haul in the first innings that rattled the batting lineup of Noakhali Express.
Batting first, the top order of Noakhali Express started cautiously after Mahedi Hasan took the early wicket of Soumya Sarkar. Both Hassan Eisakhil and Jaker Ali tried to build a partnership, but eventually lost their wickets due to some smart bowling by Chattogram Royals. These early wickets disrupted the batting plans of Noakhali Express, as they were aiming to score big in the first ten overs.
After losing the top order, the captain, Haider Ali, came in at number four to steady the innings. Unfortunately, he once again failed to make any contribution to the scoreboard, as Mahedi Hasan dismissed him for just 12 runs. The middle order of Noakhali Express then struggled badly, as Royals put further pressure on them by taking back-to-back wickets.
A late push from Sabbir Hossain gave Noakhali Express a bit of momentum towards the end of the innings. He was looking good to play a big cameo, but Shoriful Islam dismissed him towards the end of the innings. As a result, Noakhali Express managed to score just 126 runs, with Hassan Eisakhil emerging as their most notable performer.
Coming out to chase the target, Chattogram Royals started quite poorly, as Noakhali Express removed their top order in the Powerplay. Mohammad Naim smashed a few big boundaries early on, but Sabbir Hossain dismissed him for just 18 runs.
After losing four quick wickets, the chase of 127 runs became a bit difficult for Chattogram Royals. However, a strong partnership between Mahedi Hasan and Asif Ali brought their innings back on track. Due to Mahedi’s unbeaten 49 runs, Chattogram Royals sealed the victory by chasing down the target inside 17 overs. It was definitely a nervy chase, but the captain of Royals played a calculated knock to get his team over the line.
