SHARJAH – In the third T20 of the Sharjah Tri-series on Monday night, Afghanistan displayed their batting prowess, scoring 188 runs and setting their opponents UAE, a target.  

Attacking player Rahmanullah Gurbaz opened with wonderful strokes while Ibrahim Zadran brought in some much-needed balance with a measured innings. Afghanistan finished with a score of more than 180 runs due to some consistency from the middle order. During Karim Janat’s last over assault, He struck a quick 37*, helping Afghanistan add 69 runs in the final overs.

The UAE still managed some breakthroughs despite Afghanistan’s run surge. Led by Captain Muhammad Waseem’s swift rotation of the bowlers, the batting order appeared focused on constructing a challenging innings. 

The target of 188 runs places the UAE batting order under pressure. At this point in the innings, Janat and Azmatullah realize the need for a greater ambition. Sharjah’s shorter boundaries could make chasing easier, so this length should not pose a problem, as long as the batting commander is on point

Fans are in for a thrilling second innings, as the match promises non-stop action with the UAE eyeing an upset and Afghanistan aiming to tighten their grip on the tri-series.
