Barcelona Sign Karim Adeyemi From Borussia Dortmund On Five-Year Deal
Karim Adeyemi has left Borussia Dortmund with one year still remaining on his contract. The 24-year-old winger, who has represented Germany 11 times, has completed a move to FC Barcelona to advance his football career.
The transfer has now been confirmed, with Adeyemi signing a contract that will keep him at the Catalan club until 2031. Reports suggest he will earn €6 million per year after taxes.
Barcelona will pay Dortmund an initial €22 million for the transfer, with the fee potentially rising to €31 million through bonuses. Dortmund will also receive a share of any future transfer involving the player.
"Karim has been an important part of Borussia Dortmund over the past four years.” said Dortmund’s sporting CEO Lars Ricken.
“When Karim approached us with his wish to move to FC Barcelona, we agreed to it after weighing all the interests of Borussia Dortmund.” added Lars Ricken.
Adeyemi is Barcelona’s second signing of the transfer window after the club brought in England international Anthony Gordon from Newcastle.
The forward joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022. He scored 36 goals in 146 appearances across all competitions during his four seasons with the German club before moving to Barcelona recently.
