Barcelona Coach Flick Unhappy With Raphinha Injury Setback

Barcelona Coach Flick Unhappy With Raphinha Injury Setback

The head coach of Barcelona, Hansi Flick, is seemingly unhappy with the injury of Raphinha ahead of the crucial Copa del Rey clash against Albacete. He has been ruled out for a week due to thigh strain, giving Barcelona an untimely headache before the match.

Raphinha was injured during Barcelona’s match against Elche, which the Catalan side eventually won by 3-1. He had already missed two months earlier this season with a hamstring injury, so suffering another setback ahead of a key clash would have frustrated the coach.

Hansi Flick openly expressed his disappointment, saying Raphinha is a very important player for Barcelona whose repeated absences are not a good sign for the club.

"To be honest I'm not happy with this, really, because he's a very important player. We have to see what we have to change and also what he has to change. We'll speak about that in the next days because it's important.” said Barcelona coach Hansi Flick.

He further added that this is an important phase of the season, in which the club wants every player to participate with full fitness. Therefore, Raphinha’s absence is not a good sign, as it can affect the team combination.

"This is the important phase in the season, we need every player to be able to play and when he's out, it's not good." said Barcelona coach Hansi Flick.

Speaking about the performance of Albacete which defeated Real Madrid in the previous round of the competition, Flick said that unexpected results could come anytime as every team performs with full intensity. Keeping that in view, he wants Barcelona to come up with their best game to defeat Albacete in the upcoming clash.

"This is why we love (cup games), there are sometimes unexpected results. Of course it's like that -- they have nothing to lose, they have only to win." said Hansi Flick.
