In a high profile Group B clash, Bangladesh has scored 139 against Sri Lanka at Abu Dhabi. The partnership between Shamim and Jaker proved vital for the Bangladesh team. They played cautiously during the middle overs, making sure to take the game deep without losing further wickets.

Starting the innings, Sri Lankan bowlers attacked the Bangladeshi batters with stunning line and length. As the Abu Dhabi pitch was new, it offered plenty of seam and swing for the Sri Lankan bowlers. Nuwan Thushara made the vital breakthrough in the first over by removing the off stump of Tanzid Hasan with a stunning inswinger. After that, Bangladesh batters came under pressure and lost three more wickets within the Powerplay.

The partnership between Shamim and Jaker then provided a steady base to the Bangladesh team. Both batters understood the situation well and tried to take singles and doubles to keep the scoreboard rotating. Shamim scored 42 off 34 with 3 fours and a six, while Jaker scored 41 with 2 fours. Together, they put on a partnership of 86 runs that allowed Bangladesh to score 139 in the end.

The Sri Lankan batting innings is now underway at Abu Dhabi, as they look to chase down a decent total to take the top position in the group.
