Bangladesh Unveil Squad for Upcoming Home ODI Series Against Pakistan

Bangladesh Unveil Squad for Upcoming Home ODI Series Against Pakistan

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) unveiled a full-strength squad for the three-match ODI series against Pakistan that will be starting from March 11. The experienced allrounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been retained as captain, whereas wicketkeeper batter Litton Das has made a comeback in the side.

The squad also marks the return of pace duo Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam, however, other notable names like Nurul Hasan, Jaker Ali, Shamim Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Tanzim Hasan and Nasum Ahmed were left out.

Speaking about the squad, the chief selector of Bangladesh Gazi Ashraf Hossain said that Litton Das has been picked to strengthen the middle order, as he has the experience to perform well under tough conditions.

"Litton Das may not have produced his best in recent ODIs, but you can't overlook the experience of nearly a hundred international matches in this format," said Gazi Ashraf Hossain.

The chief selector further said that Litton Das has been working closely with the coaches to improve his batting, so the management is backing him to make a strong comeback in the upcoming ODI series.

"He has been working closely with the coaches on his game. We believe he will soon perform in the manner he is capable of. We are considering him as an option to strengthen the middle order. Soumya Sarkar, meanwhile, has been in excellent form at the international level,"  added Gazi Ashraf Hossain.

The Pakistan team will arrive in Bangladesh on March 9 to participate in the three-match ODI series. It will be the first assignment of the green shirts after a disappointing T20 World Cup 2026, so fans are expecting them to make a comeback with a strong performance.
