Ahmed Shehzad Questions Babar’s T20I Spot After Poor Performance

The spotlight is on Babar Azam again. Pakistan lost to India by 61 runs in the T20 World Cup 2026, and former opener Ahmed Shehzad did not stay silent. He questioned Babar’s future in T20 cricket.

Struggles Continue on the Big Stage

Babar walked in with Pakistan reeling at 13 for 3. The pressure was obvious. He faced seven balls, scratched out five runs, then Axar Patel rattled his stumps

In six T20 matches against India, Babar has scored 110 runs at an average of 22. In big games like Pakistan vs India, small mistakes cost heavily. 

Earlier, he scored 15 against the Netherlands and 46 against the USA. 

India Dominate, Pakistan Search Answers

Pakistan vs India T20 World Cup 2026 match again proved to be a one-sided game as Ishan Kishan attacked from the start and smashed 77 runs off 40 balls. India scored 175 runs. Pakistan could only manage 114 in 18 overs.

Babar has received strong support from fans and selectors. He has had many opportunities. But in major T20 matches, he has not consistently played the role of Pakistan’s match-winner.

Now the talk has started again about Babar Azam T20I Future. Selectors have tough decisions to make. Fans are also very much disappointed. The team management must decide whether to back him on trust or look at his recent form.
