Ireland's chase of 183 in the Aus vs Ireland match, collapsed during a disastrous Powerplay as they lost four wickets for just 40 runs. The trouble began on the very first ball when captain Paul Stirling retired hurt with a hamstring injury. Matthew Kuhnemann broke through in the second over, dismissing Harry Tector for a duck after he skied a catch to mid-off.
Nathan Ellis then decimated the top order, removing Ross Adair (12) with a trademark slower ball that hit middle stump and getting Curtis Campher caught in the same over.
Ellis claimed his third wicket in the fifth over when Ben Calitz played onto his own stumps, leaving Ireland reeling at 27/4 before a late Powerplay boundary push.
