DUBAI: Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha opted to bat first against Oman in the fourth fixture of the Asia Cup 2025 on Friday. With a batting-friendly surface on offer in Dubai, Pakistan is eyeing a strong total to put pressure on their opponents.
The Men in Green have gone with a balanced XI that combines aggressive batting at the top with an experienced bowling unit. Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman provide firepower, while Shaheen Afridi and Abrar Ahmed headline the bowling attack.
Oman, under Jatinder Singh’s leadership, will be motivated to leave their mark in their maiden T20I meeting against Pakistan. The squad consists of experienced campaigners such as Aamir Kaleem and young talents such as Hammad Mirza. Pakistan has the depth of the batting line against the bowling assault of Oman, which is led by Sufyan Mehmood and Shakeel Ahmed.
This match is the start of a new era in the history of the Asia Cup, with Pakistan and Oman playing the first short-format match against each other.
