The third Asia Cup 2025 game is being played at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, where Bangladesh and Hong Kong are fighting a Group Stage match. It is also a question of whether Bangladesh can stamp its authority or whether Hong Kong can cause another upset.

With both groups in dire need of points, the scene is perfect to have a full-scale battle under lights in Dubai. Bangladesh elected to bowl first, putting the Hong Kong batting lineup to the test at the very outset.

Bangladesh Put Hong Kong to Bat First

Bangladesh captain Litton Das threw it right at the toss and placed the field first. This move shows their assurance chasing, particularly with power hitters such as Towhid Hridoy and Parvez Hossain Emon in the line-up. It is a chance to restrict Hong Kong to a modest total and then put their batting lineup to the test.

Both sides understand the importance of this match, and each point is vital in the group table. Bangladesh will count on their pace attack of Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman, whereas Hong Kong will be relying on their captain Yasim Murtaza and the veteran Babar Hayat to lead the innings.

Playing XIs

Bangladesh XI: Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Litton Das (capt & wk), Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Jaker Ali, Mahedi Hasan, Tanzim Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman

Hong Kong XI: Zeeshan Ali (wk), Anshy Rath, Babar Hayat, Nizakat Khan, Kalhan Challu, Kinchit Shah, Yasim Murtaza (capt), Aizaz Khan, Ayush Shukla, Ateeq Iqbal, Ehsan Khan

Head-to-Head Record

Interestingly, Bangladesh and Hong Kong have only met once before in T20 internationals, back in the 2014 T20 World Cup. On that occasion, Hong Kong shocked Bangladesh by bowling them out for 108 and chasing down the target with two wickets to spare.
