Pakistan’s Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem has climbed to fourth place in the latest World Athletics rankings for men’s javelin throw. He achieved 1,370 points, reflecting his dominant performance this season.

Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra leads the world rankings with 1,445 points, closely followed by Grenada’s Anderson Peters (1,431) and Germany’s Julian Weber (1,407).

Nadeem earned his ranking points primarily from his gold-medal throw of 86.40 m at the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea, last month. It remains his only ranking event this year, a factor that has somewhat limited his climb.

The Pakistani javelin star is expected to compete in two to three international meets before the World Athletics Championships in September, according to. This can help further boost his ranking.

Nadeem goes on to win gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, breaking the Olympic record with a throw of 92.97m, in the process winning Pakistan its first-ever track and field medal after 40 years. His status in the present does verify that he belongs to the elite of the world.

Currently fourth-ranked on a global scale, Arshad Nadeem is at the threshold of main events in which he can go on a positive, steep climb. With major competitions to follow, Pakistan's javelin sensation can aim to be within the top three world rankings by the end of the season.
