Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Waseem Shine as UAE Post 172/5 in Power-Packed T20 Innings
The contesting total of the United Arab Emirates in the first innings was 172/5 in 20 overs, and was driven by brilliant performances from Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Waseem. The big shots, smart running between the wickets, and batting under pressure powered the innings.
Sharafu struck in front with a storming 51 off 38 balls with 7 fours and one six, and Waseem followed with a quick 69 off 54 balls when run out. Their alliance saw to it that the UAE achieved a good overall despite the loss of their wickets during the final phases.
The power play started well. UAE started strongly, reaching 50/0 in just 5.6 overs while preserving wickets, maintaining a high scoring rate. The scoring rate continued to be high. Sharafu took him 50 balls in 37 runs, and Waseem succeeded him in short hits as he took his fifty in 41 balls.
Oman’s bowlers fought back with timely wickets through the DRS system, including dismissals of Waseem and Harshit Kaushik in the final overs. Extras played a minor role, contributing 9 runs, while slow over-rate penalties slightly impacted the final phase.
The UAE innings set the tone for an exciting chase or further high-scoring cricket from Oman.
