Ahmedabad in Line to Stage Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Final

Ahmedabad in Line to Stage Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Final

Reports from Indian media hint that the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 final could be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The tournament, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, is pencilled in from February 7 to March 8 next year. Inside the BCCI corridors, A meeting of top board officials this week reportedly narrowed down the venue list to a tighter group than before.

This World Cup 2025 edition would feature fewer cities. The plan is to give each selected ground at least six games, ensuring fans see more action per venue. The short list includes Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Delhi. That’s cricket royalty right there.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will host its share of games across three stadiums yet to be confirmed. Colombo seems a certain stop, especially if the home side goes deep in the competition. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has even clarified that if Sri Lanka reaches the semi-finals, the game will be played in Colombo.

There’s more. If Pakistan qualifies for the final, it will be staged at a neutral venue under the ongoing hybrid model agreed between the BCCI and PCB. That one clause could stir more discussion than any powerplay strategy.

Interestingly, some recent venues are missing from the early shortlist. Grounds like Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, Indore, and Navi Mumbai, all part of the recent Women’s World Cup, won’t host matches this time.

That’s not all. The 2026 edition sticks to the successful 20-team format: four groups of five, then the Super Eight, semi-finals, and the grand finale. Simple, yet packed with drama.

Whatever the venue, fans are simply excited to see their favorite stars in action and enjoy another thrilling T20 World Cup final.
