Due to their cumulative efforts, Afghanistan managed to score 151 against Bangladesh in the 1st T20I at Sharjah.
After winning the toss, Afghanistan quickly decided to bat first. They had an idea of how Sharjah’s pitch plays during the night.
It is one of those grounds where chasing in the second innings often becomes difficult. So, having this in mind, Rashid Khan chose to bat first. He felt confident at the toss that Afghanistan would put on a good score on the board, but things became difficult when they came out to bat.
The star opener of Afghanistan, Ibrahim Zadran, made a good start in the Powerplay. He was looking good until Nasum Ahmed sent him back to the pavilion in the 4th over.
Soon after this wicket, Bangladesh made another big breakthrough by taking the wicket of Sediqullah Atal in the 5th over. This huge blow gave an early jolt to the Afghan team that was planning to go big in the Powerplay.
However, the fall of these two wickets didn’t trouble Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Today, he came out to bat at number 3, and produced a strong knock of 40 runs when things were becoming a bit difficult for Afghanistan.
Gurbaz kept the runs flowing from one end by playing positive cricket. He didn’t find much difficulty in the middle, even as other Afghan batters struggled to time the ball effectively.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz made a strong partnership with Mohammad Nabi, who came out to bat at 7 in today’s game.
Due to their efforts, Afghanistan managed to stabilize the innings that was jolted by Bangladesh’s smart bowling.
Mohammad Nabi once again showcased his experience in the 1st innings by keeping things steady. He made sure not to give further wickets in the middle phase of the game when Bangladesh were looking to wrap up the Afghan batting lineup.

This crucial impetus at the end allowed Afghanistan to cross the 150 mark. It is a good score at Sharjah, keeping in view the nature of the ground that makes batting difficult in the second innings.
Now, the chase has started, and Bangladesh has come out to the field with a set plan against Afghanistan’s bowlers. They are looking to score big in the Powerplay, however, Fareed Ahmad and other bowlers are ready to keep things tight for them.
