Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh comprehensively in the 3rd ODI at Abu Dhabi. They dominated the match from the first ball, giving the Bangladesh team a complete thrashing. With this victory, Afghanistan secured a series sweep over the Bangladesh team that looked very shaky throughout the game. They lost the match by a big margin of 200 runs, something they simply hadn’t expected before the start of the game.

Batting first, Afghanistan put on a strong total of 293 on the board while losing 9 wickets. They started the innings confidently, as both openers played positively in the Powerplay. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran forged a strong partnership at the start that allowed Afghanistan to build a solid base. Zadran looked especially classy with the bat today, as he played a big knock of 95 runs by smashing 7 fours and 2 sixes.

Unfortunately, he was run out due to a terrible mix-up with Ikram Alikhil in the middle. His dismissal made things a bit tricky, as Afghanistan lost two more wickets after he went back to the pavilion. It was a tough phase of the game that required experience, and Mohammad Nabi was the perfect answer.

The veteran came out to bat at number 7 and changed the tempo of the innings single-handedly. He showcased once again why he is considered the most reliable all-rounder in the Afghanistan team. Due to his quick 62 runs, Afghanistan managed to score 293 at the end of the first innings.

When Bangladesh came out to bat in the second innings, they looked completely disorganized from the start. The openers of the Bangladesh team started cautiously, as Afghanistan kept continuous pressure on them in the Powerplay. As a result, Mohammad Naim became the first casualty in the Bangladesh batting lineup. He got out in the 9th over after making just 7 runs.

Once he was dismissed, the whole Bangladesh’s batting lineup fell like a pack of cards. Only Saif Hassan stood tall at one end, showcasing grit and patience against the attacking Afghanistan team. He was the only batter who entered double figures, as all the other players got out without even crossing 10 runs.

This resulted in a shameful defeat, as the whole Bangladesh team was bowled out for just 93 runs. It was a complete performance from Afghanistan that made things bad to worse for the tigers in the 3rd ODI at Abu Dhabi. They will now feel a bit dejected, as Afghanistan thrashed them with a clean sweep in the series that was earlier expected to be highly competitive.
