Abrar Ranks 1st in Latest T20I Rankings After Overtaking Rashid Khan

Abrar Ahmed has become the latest Pakistan bowler to reach the summit of the ICC Men’s T20I rankings, taking the No. 1 position in the latest update. The 28-year-old has 736 rating points, moving ahead of Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, while Australia’s Adam Zampa completes the top three.

The achievement adds Abrar to an exclusive group of Pakistan bowlers who have reached the top of the T20I bowling rankings. He follows Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul and Imad Wasim, and has reached the position for the first time in his career.

Abrar’s rise follows a productive 2026 campaign. He has taken 15 wickets in nine T20Is for Pakistan this year, including six wickets during the team’s 3-0 series win over Australia at the start of the year.

With the latest update, the Pakistan spinner now sits one point ahead of Rashid. That narrow margin has changed the order at the top, with Abrar becoming no. 1 T20I bowler after previously occupying the second position.

Farhan Stays Among T20I Batting Leaders

Pakistan also continues to have a strong presence in the batting rankings. Sahibzada Farhan remains third with 848 rating points, behind India’s Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma.

Saim Ayub moved two places to 39th with 560 points, while Babar Azam also climbed two positions and now sits 41st on 555. Salman Ali Agha retained 45th place with 547 points, while Fakhar Zaman remained 72nd with 481.

The bowling rankings also feature several Pakistan players outside the top three. Mohammad Nawaz is eighth with 658 points, Salman Mirza is 18th on 636 and Shaheen Afridi occupies 33rd with 602.

Usman Tariq moved up two places to 57th with 524 points, while Sufiyan Muqeem advanced to 63rd with 510. Shadab Khan stayed 77th on 485, while Haris Rauf climbed two places to 86th with 448.

For Abrar, however, the rankings update marks the biggest milestone as he ranks 1st in T20I rankings for the first time, giving Pakistan the leading bowler in the format.
