Abbottabad Dominate Karachi Blues in High-Scoring Thriller

Abbottabad Dominate Karachi Blues in High-Scoring Thriller

The National T20 Cup rarely disappoints when it comes to drama, and Tuesday’s clash delivered plenty. What looked like a steep target quickly turned into a batting exhibition as Abbottabad dismantled Karachi Blues by eight wickets.

Karachi Blues had set the tone earlier. Openers attacked from the first over and kept the scoreboard racing. Ahsan Ali led the charge with a sharp 67 from 36 balls. Boundaries flowed. Fielders chased leather across the ground. His innings included seven fours and three towering sixes.

Jahanzaib Sultan supported the momentum with a brisk 42. Later, Usman Khan added 40 off 25 deliveries, ensuring Karachi Blues crossed the 200 mark. By the end of the innings, the total stood at 201 for 4. It looked competitive. Perhaps even match winning.

Shadab Khan did a decent job for Abbottabad. The leg-spinner took two wickets and gave away only 32 runs.

Then the chase began. And suddenly the Abbottabad vs Karachi Blues contest tilted sharply.

Abbottabad lost opener Sajjad Ali Hashmi early. For a moment the crowd sensed pressure. But Shahzaib Khan had other ideas.

He fought back with attacking shots, finding gaps with strong drives and confident pulls. Kamran Ghulam supported him well from the other end. Both batters kept scoring quickly, and the run rate kept climbing with every over.

The pair piled on 115 runs for the second wicket. Karachi Blues bowlers searched for answers but none arrived.

Shahzaib eventually departed for 75 off 38 balls, an innings packed with authority and timing. But the damage had already been done in this Abbottabad vs Karachi Blues encounter.

Kamran Ghulam carried on. He finished unbeaten on 81 from 42 deliveries. Khushdil Shah added late fireworks with 38 not out off just 16 balls, smashing 2 sixes and 4 boundaries that sealed the result in the 17th over.

Abbottabad chased the target comfortably and moved to the top of Group B in the National T20 Cup. They now have four points from two matches and are in a strong position in the tournament.
