Khaled Ahmed Bowling Masterclass Helps Sylhet Titans Knock Out Rangpur Riders

Sylhet Titans knocked out Rangpur Riders of BPL 2026 by winning the Eliminator at the Mirpur Stadium. Khaled Ahmed was their star performer, as he picked 4 wickets in the first innings of the match. Due to his exceptional bowling, Rangpur Riders managed to score just 111 runs, which was later chased down by Sylhet Titans in the second innings.

Batting first, Rangpur Riders started the innings poorly as their openers were removed early in the Powerplay. Khaled Ahmed took the wickets of Towhid Hridoy and Litton Das, whereas Dawid Malan was sent back to the pavilion by Chris Woakes. These early blows jolted the batting plans of Rangpur Riders, as they were relying on their top order to score big in the Powerplay.

The middle order of Riders then showcased some resistance at the crease, as Khushdil Shah and Mahmudullah built a little partnership to take the innings forward. The duo were looking to play a big knock, but Nasum Ahmed removed both to give Titans again an edge in the match.

After their dismissals, the lower order of Riders failed badly, as no batter showed any fight at the crease. As a result, Rangpur Riders managed to score just 111 runs in the first innings, with Mahmudullah remaining their highest run-scorer.

Coming out to chase the target, Sylhet Titans started cautiously but didn’t find much momentum in the Powerplay. The openers were sent back by Riders cheaply, whereas the middle order also remained disappointing.

A valiant knock by Sam Billings then rescued the Titans innings, as he played sensibly in the middle overs to take the chase deep. His partnership with Mehidy Hasan Miraz was vital, as it allowed Titans to steadily come closer to the target.

The match then went into the final over, with the Titans needing six runs to win. Faheem Ashraf bowled well to keep things tight, however, a stunning last-ball six by Chris Woakes handed Sylhet Titans a thrilling victory. They won the match by just three wickets, confirming their next clash with the Rajshahi Warriors in Qualifier 2 at the Mirpur Stadium.
