Shadab, Moqim Help Falcons Complete Comfortable Win Over Tridents in CPL 2026
Shadab Khan and Sufyan Moqim played a key role with the ball as the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons recorded a 30-run win over the Barbados Tridents in CPL 2026. The Falcons defended their total successfully in the 16th game of the tournament, which helped them secure top positon on the league’s points table.
After being put into bat, the Falcons reached 155/5 in 20 overs. Moeen Ali anchored the innings with a fine half-century, while Amir Jangoo and Karima Gore chipped in with important runs.
Moeen struck 56 from 37 balls, finding the boundary three times and clearing it on four occasions. Gore added 27 off 23 deliveries with three fours and a six, while Jangoo scored 26 from 24 balls, including a four and a six.
The Falcons lost Rahkeem Cornwall without scoring, while Hasan Nawaz could manage only seven runs. Shadab then came to the crease, but failed to provide any impetus with the bat. Meanwhile, Shamar Springer stayed at the crease until the end, scoring an unbeaten 19 off 16 balls with two boundaries.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman was the standout bowler for Barbados, taking 2/32 in his four overs. Daniel Sams, Gudakesh Motie and Ramon Simmonds also picked up a wicket each.
When Tridents came out to bat in the second innings, struggled in their chase and were dismissed for 125 in 18 overs. The Falcons’ bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the innings and did not allow Barbados to build any strong partnerships.
Rivaldo Clarke was the highest scorer for the Tridents, making 27 from 26 balls with four boundaries. Apart from him, Kevlon Anderson also made 22 runs, as the middle and lower order of the team crumbled quickly later in the innings.
The performance of Quinton de Kock was also disappointing, as he failed to provide any impetus to the team in the chase. As a result, the Tridents only managed to score 125 in the second innings, handing Falcons a comfortable victory by 30 runs.
From the bowling perspective, Joshua James remained the pick of the bowler for the Falcons, as he took 3 wickets while conceding just 18 runs.
