Left-arm pacer Salman Mirza has thrown his full support behind newly appointed T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, praising his composed and constructive leadership ahead of Pakistan’s upcoming tri-series and Asia Cup 2025 campaign.

Mirza told the media after training sessions in Dubai that preparation has been good and satisfying:

“Alhamdulillah, the sessions have been very good. We have got good time in and out in training, and match time to adjust and refine our plans,” he said, sounding confident not only about himself, but of the rest of the squad as well.”

Commenting on his part in the lineup, Mirza explained that:

“I do not see myself as an all-rounder. I am primarily a bowler, but when the need arises, I will go on to bat to complete the game.”

Captain and mindset were the buzzwords in between; nevertheless, he most especially complimented the captain.

“Salman Agha is calm and very positive. Even under pressure, he doesn’t create stress—he addresses issues constructively afterward. Though this is his first leadership assignment, we are confident about his approach.”

Looking ahead to the marquee Asia Cup encounter against India, Mirza urged equal emphasis on all opponents:

“Games like India push you to grow, but every team here is competitive. We are preparing for every match. Insha’Allah, we’ll deliver results.”

The tri-nation series involving Afghanistan and the UAE, set to begin in late August, is seen as a vital build-up before the Asia Cup opens on September 9.
