SHARJAH -Salman Ali Agha struck a wonderful knock to give a nice total to Pakistan in the first match of the tri-series in the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Having decided to open the batting, Pakistan set 182 runs with seven wickets lost in their 20 overs. Salman Ali Agha was the most effective and kept the innings together with a heady half-century that was ticking the scoreboard.

The opening was very loud with opener Sahibzada Farhan hitting the Afghan bowlers early in the game with a whopping 21 runs in only 10 balls, including two sixes and a four. But after he was fired, Afghanistan was able to slow the pace. Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman failed to start, but Salman Ali Agha stood up and played the innings.

Despite losing a couple of wickets during the middle overs, Pakistan was the winner at the end, as Salman played aggressive strokes and maintained a calm demeanor at the crease.

Having such a good aggregate on the board, Pakistan will be at ease in the second trimester, and Afghanistan will be seeking to make a good batting score and achieve the target under the tricky weather at Sharjah.
