Saeed Ajmal Stuns Babar Azam With Magic Delivery in Charity Match

PESHAWAR – The much-awaited flood relief exhibition match at the Imran Khan Stadium lit up with a breathtaking moment as veteran off-spinner Saeed Ajmal rolled back the years to dismiss star batter Babar Azam.
Opening for Zalmi XI, Babar Azam looked in sublime touch, playing elegant strokes and racing to 43 off just 23 balls. He had already hit Ajmal for a towering six over long-on, but the crafty spinner had the last laugh. With his trademark variation, Ajmal delivered a beauty that went through Babar’s defense and knocked back his stumps — a moment that drew huge cheers from the crowd.
Babar made a good opening and a quick partnership with Yasir Hameed, but Zalmi XI lost the battle after being bowled out at 144 runs in 14.4 overs. Legends XI put up a spirited fight in the case, and the hopes were kept up by Inzamam-ul-Haq (46* off 23) and Azhar Mehmood (34 off 14). Zalmi XI, however, held their nerve and won a heart-throbbing six-run victory.
It was not only about a match, but also about uniting behind a noble cause, which was the cause of cricket. The exhibition was held under the slogan of Khel Se Khidmat (Service through Sports), and it united the past legends and present superstars, with proceeds going to the flood relief and rehabilitation efforts in Pakistan.
