Rajshahi Warriors won the BPL 2026 trophy by defeating Chattogram Royals in the final. A masterful century by Tanzid Hasan powered Rajshahi Warriors’ victory, as he scored 100 off just 62 balls in the first innings. The lead pacer of Warriors, Binura Fernando, then came up with a fine spell of bowling to dismantle Chattogram Royals to just 111 runs in the second innings.
Batting first, Rajshahi Warriors looked in complete control against Royals, as Tanzid Hasan played positively from the first over. Despite Farhan’s slow batting, he kept up the scoring rate by hitting boundaries consistently. Due to that, Chattogram Royals remained under pressure, as none of their bowlers found early breakthrough.
After the dismissal of Farhan, Tanzid made a solid partnership with Kane Williamson to take the innings forward. Both played sensibly without playing rash shots, which allowed Warriors to become stable in the middle overs.
After scoring fifty, Tanzid changed his gears and started playing aggressively to put more pressure on Chattogram Royals. He finally struck a brilliant century in the end by hitting 6 fours and 7 sixes, giving Rajshahi Warriors a big total of 174 on the board.
When Chattogram Royals came out to chase the target, they looked shaky from the start. Apart from Mirza Baig, the top order of Royals failed miserably, as Hasan Murad and Binura Fernando picked back-to-back wickets to give Warriors an edge in the match.
The middle order of the Royals also failed to provide any resistance, as the scoreboard pressure didn’t allow any batter to settle in. As a result, Chattogram Royals were bowled out for just 111 runs, handing Rajshahi Warriors a comprehensive victory in the final. The Warriors lifted their maiden BPL trophy, showcasing why they were considered favourites to win the title from the start of the tournament.
