The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has selected 30 promising young cricketers for the third phase of its U19 Skills Assessment camp, set to begin on 7 July at the National Cricket Academy in Multan and run through the end of August. The announcement was confirmed by the PCB today.

First two phases saw 65 players evaluated through four competitive matches overseen by Azhar Ali, Head of Youth Development, with coaching emphasis on batting, bowling, fielding, and tactical acumen.

20 emerging talents earned their spots through strong performances, while 10 U19 World Cup–eligible former national players (including Abdul Subhan, Usman Khan, and others) joined the cohort for targeted skill enhancement.
 

New Entrants (20): Abbas Khan, Abdul Wahab, Ali Hassan Baloch, Asad Umar, Daniyal Ali Khan, Ghulam Haider, Hamza Zahoor, Haroon Khan, Hazrat Ali, Huzaifa Ahsan, Ibtisam Azhar, Mohammad Arshad, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Niqab Shafiq, Rana Adeel Mushtaq, Rizwanullah, Saad Sakhawat, Sadeeq Aman, Sameer Minhas, Yahya Shah.
 

U19 World Cup–Experienced (10): Abdul Subhan, Ahmed Hussain, Farhan Yousaf, Hassan Khan, Mohammad Huzaifa, Mohammad Tahir, Momin Qamar, Tayyab Arif, Umar Zaib, Usman Khan.
 

These players are all born on or after 1 September 2006, making them eligible for the 2026 ICC U19 World Cup.

  • Skill refinement: Advanced technical sessions for high-potential players.
     
  • Mental conditioning: Emphasis on sports psychology, decision-making, and match pressure management.
     
  • Talent pipeline: To prepare players for forthcoming ACC U19 Asia Cup 2025 and the 2026 ICC U19 World Cup
     

The PCB’s structured evaluation and phase-based progression underscores its commitment to nurturing the next generation of Pakistan’s cricket leaders.

  • The camp kicks off on 7 July in Multan, with participants undergoing intensive training and match scenarios until late August.
     
  • Exceptional performers are likely to join domestic U19 championships and national duty.
     
  • The PCB will also monitor progress ahead of selection for U19 Asia Cup and World Cup squads.
