Cricket fans can mark September 7, 2025, on their calendars as the group-stage clash between Pakistan and India in the Asia Cup has been confirmed to take place in Dubai, according to multiple reports. Scheduled between 5 and 12 September, the tournament will be held in T20 format across UAE venues.

Organised by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), the Asia Cup will feature the six teams India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and the UAE, competing in a group stage followed by Super Four and a final. 

Semi-official schedules place the marquee India vs Pakistan encounter on September 7 in Dubai, with a probable second group-stage meeting on September 14 in the Super Four round.

While the recent political flare-ups in India-Pakistan relations have left a cloud of unease, especially following Operation Sindhoor, the cricket boards remain adamant on ensuring the fixture of the Asia Cup. India’s government has granted a green light, and both BCCI and PCB have confirmed that the tournament will proceed as planned.

Fans across Pakistan have already begun public planning. Sports enthusiasts throughout the country eagerly await the convening and watching the clash on big screens. This reflects the excitement witnessed during the 2023 Champions Trophy in the UAE.

On social media, excitement is sky-high, with cricket.com's prediction of as many as two to three India–Pakistan matches during the 17-day Asia Cup window.
