Pakistan’s under‑18 men’s hockey team reinforced their dominance in the U‑18 Hockey Asia Cup 2025 with a commanding 6–3 victory over Bangladesh, maintaining an unbeaten streak in the tournament.

Pakistan raced to a 3–0 lead within the first 20 minutes. Forward Asam Haider opened the scoring in the 8th minute from a penalty corner, followed by a field goal from Atif Ali four minutes later. Just before halftime, Adeel extended the lead with a powerful strike into the top right corner.

Though Bangladesh responded strongly in the third quarter—scoring twice through quick counterattacks—the Green Shirts answered back decisively. Awan found the net in the 48th minute, and Zubair Latif sealed the match with a field goal in the 53rd.

The Pakistan U‑18 squad previously thrashed Sri Lanka 9–0 in a dominant performance earlier in the event. With the win over Bangladesh, Pakistan remains atop Group A, preparing for a final pool-stage match against hosts China on 9 July.

Tactical takeaways

  • Quick-start strategy: Early penetration and capitalisation on penalty corners set the tone.

  • Offensive resilience: Despite Bangladesh’s comeback, Pakistan responded swiftly to regain control.

  • Clinical finishing: Six goals from six different forwards highlights depth in attack.

Pakistan faces China tomorrow, their final Group A fixture (9 July), before moving into the knockout rounds. They head into that match as firm favourites to top the group and maintain momentum in their quest for the Asia Cup title.
