Dubai - Ticket sales for Phase 1 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 commenced today, and it is the start of what is bound to be an exciting tournament. The sale began at 6:15 PM PKT, offering affordable prices to ensure more people can attend the event.
According to a press release from the ICC, more than 2 million tickets will be available in Phase I. Further details on Phase II ticket sales are expected to be announced soon. “More than 2 million tickets will go on sale in the first phase, with Phase II ticket sales set to be announced soon,” the ICC stated in it’s press release.
Ticket prices for the Phase I sales are remarkably affordable. In India, tickets start at just ₹100 (approximately $1.11), while in Sri Lanka, prices begin at LKR1000 (approximately $3.26). The low prices reflect the ICC's commitment to making the event accessible to fans from all walks of life.
ICC’s Chief Executive Officer, Sanjog Gupta, emphasized the importance of keeping tickets affordable, especially for fans across diverse backgrounds. "Phase I of ticket sales is an important milestone in our journey towards delivering the most accessible and global ICC event ever staged," Gupta stated.
He further highlighted the ICC’s vision for the event: “Our vision for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is clear: every fan, regardless of background, geography or financial means, should have the chance to access an in-stadia experience of world-class marquee cricket.”
While the affordable ticket prices are a significant draw, the ICC has yet to provide full details about the ticket categories, price structures, and other specifics. These details are expected to be revealed in due course.
India and Sri Lanka will co-host the 2026 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The tournament will be held from February 7 to March 8, 2026. It will be played by 20 teams and in the form of four groups consisting of five teams. The best two teams in every group would proceed to the Super Eight stage.
The very first game will be between Pakistan and the Netherlands. The hosts and the reigning champions, India, will later in the day play against the United States in Mumbai, India. It marks a thrilling start to what promises to be a memorable tournament.
