The match between Mackenzie Harvey and Adelaide Strikers Academy took place at the Marrara Cricket Ground on Saturday, and it can be described as a battle of wits since it saw Harvey treat the ball like a batting master.

Chasing as many as 176 against Bangladesh A, Harvey took the lead, smashing a spell-binding 102 not out off 53 balls. Lasting 66 balls, and packed with 16 boundaries and a mammoth six, the innings was filled not only with flair but management as the Strikers won by seven wickets with 11 balls to go.

Pacer Jake Winter followed up with a patient 35, and Harry Manenti was the finisher, smacking an unbeaten 25 to make sure the run chase would not be slowed down. Harvey appropriately collected his century with a decisive edge as he ended up with a dominating performance on the night.

Bangladesh A had earlier totaled 175/4 in response as they were asked to bat first. Jishan Alam scored a half-century, whereas Afif Hossain was left just short of fifty by scoring 49 not out. They were, however, annoyed off the job by the heroics of Harvey.

The result earned Strikers a semi-final position, where they will be wreathed in the glow of confidence and the performances of their breakthrough opening batsman.
