Barcelona coach Hansi Flick came down hard on his players following two damaging defeats in La Liga. He said the players should feel some responsibility after showcasing dismal performance on the field. This is a hard statement given by Flick, as Barcelona is now preparing to take on Levante in a high-stakes clash on Sunday.
While speaking to reporters on Saturday, Hansi Flick said that the players in the team know what needs to be done. As a coach, he wants to maintain honest communication within the team, as this will allow everyone to move forward with a unified approach.
“I think everyone is convinced about what we are doing, of course in these moments it’s not easy. For me, communication is always important. We were very honest and also very open, it’s not only me telling them what to do, I want to ask them. This is how I manage the team.” said Barcelona coach Hansi Flick.
He then said that Barcelona needs strong leaders on the ground who can make correct decisions quickly by having clear communication.
“It is important because we need leaders on the pitch, they should (be able) to say something. That’s how communication is, on the same eye-level.” said Hansi Flick while talking to the reporters.
The coach then asked the players to feel some responsibility, so that the current dismissal streak of losses can be broken.
“At the end, I have to decide things, that is my job, but I want the players to feel the responsibility about this situation, and I think they do.” said Hansi Flick.
He then expressed satisfaction with the return of Marcus Rashford and Pedri Gonzalez, as both players are going to be crucial for Barcelona in the upcoming clash against Levante.
“The positive thing is Rashford is back, Pedri is back. Maybe (Pedri) can play some minutes, the important thing is he’s training, with his quality. He’s an important player for us, he’s a different kind of leader because of his quality.” said Hansi Flick.
