Gouher Sultana, the left arm spinner of the Indian Women’s team has announced her retirement from all formats of the game. She made a social media post where she described representing India as the “greatest honour” of her career.

Debuting in 2008, she went on to play 50 ODI matches and 37 T20I matches. She has claimeda total of 95 wickets in her career with an ODI average of 19.39 and a T20I average of 26.27.

Sultana represented her country in the ODI World Cup and multiple T20 World Cups. She also took part in the Women’s Premier League playing for the UP Warriorz in 2024 and 2025.

Sultana’s message on social media resonated with gratitude and pride: “After years of wearing the Indian jersey with pride, passion, and purpose…with a heart full of memories and eyes welled with gratitude, I announce my retirement…”
“To have represented India at the highest level…has been the greatest honour of my life.”
