Faheem Ashraf backs Babar Azam’s natural game amid social media scrutiny

Pakistan all-rounder Faheem Ashraf has stepped up to defend captain Babar Azam, urging fans and critics alike to allow the star batter to play in his own style rather than force him into a template shaped by social media expectations.
Speaking this week. According to Cricshadows, Ashraf said: “Babar and I started cricket together. He’s a world‑class player. Unnecessary social media criticism forced him to change his natural game.”
He further added: “Let Babar be Babar,” underlining his belief that imposing rigid expectations is stifling the batter’s natural flair.
Ashraf’s remarks come amid mounting social media pressure, where some fans have urged Babar to hit more boundaries or play more aggressively. But Ashraf cautioned against that approach, saying that such external narratives risk disrupting a player’s confidence and style, especially for someone as technically gifted as Babar.
With Pakistan competing in upcoming series and tournaments, maintaining confidence and consistency from its captain will be vital. Ashraf’s call for calm is a reminder that cricket, especially at the international level, demands mental composure just as much as technical skill.
As Babar enters a crucial phase in his career, Ashraf's timely reassurance offers both a public vote of confidence and a plea to fans: let the natural talent of one of Pakistan's finest bat with freedom, not under undue scrutiny.
