Buttler, Brook Humiliate India in 5th T20I to Secure a Crushing 4-0 Series Whitewash

England cruised to a dominating victory over India in the 5th T20I, thanks to the batting masterclass from Jos Buttler and Harry Brook. The duo humiliated India with a powerful performance in the first innings, which devastated the visitors’ plans to secure a consolation win.

Batting first, England didn’t have a great start, as they lost Phil Salt early in the Powerplay. However, Brook didn’t took any pressure, as he launched a stunning counterattack to deflate the Indian bowling plans.

Jos Buttler also looked good in today’s match, as he kept himself steady at the start to absorb the early pressure. He started playing shots once England got the control back, giving India a hard time during the middle overs.

Buttler then struck a brilliant century, showcasing why he is still one of the top batters in the T20I format. He scored 131 off just 64 balls, smashing 12 fours and 8 sixes at a strike rate of 204.

Harry Brook was equally brilliant in the first innings, as he scored an unbeaten 95 runs to help England post a gigantic total of 257 in the first innings.

In reply, the response of India was very weak. The overhyped Abhishek Sharma once again failed to deliver, as Jofra Archer sent him back to the pavilion for just 3 runs.

Ishan Kishan then played a good innings to give some momentum to the innings, but other middle-order batters failed to contribute with any meaningful score. As a result, Kishan went back to the pavilion after scoring 56 with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes.

England then kept control by taking regular wickets, making sure that the Indian batters do not get any momentum to come back into the contest.

Tilak Varma then played a fighting cameo in the end, but his innings failed to provide any impetus, as the visitors managed to score just 201 in the second innings. As a result, England secured a big victory by 56 runs in the 5th T20I and completed a crushing 4-0 whitewash of India that looked completely confused throughout the series.
