Eight Associate cricket administrators are in contention for three coveted seats on the ICC’s Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC), with voting underway through the ICC's annual conference today in Dubai.

The candidates, following the withdrawal of Italy’s nominee, include:

  • Mubashir Usmani (UAE)
  • Mark Stafford (Vanuatu)
  • Bashir Ansasiira (Uganda)
  • Rashpal Bajwa (Canada)
  • Betty Timmer (Netherlands)
  • Eisa Y Al‑Yaqoub (Qatar)
  • Greg Campbell (Papua New Guinea)
  • Sumod Damodar (Botswana)

Each voter must select three candidates in order of preference. Once polls close on July 23, the top three vote-getters—who will serve a two-year term—will be announced.

According to CricBuzz, three seats are available—currently held by Damodar, Ansasiira, and Bajwa—and a new or returning candidate must earn significant support to join or retain a post. Forty-four Associate member nations are eligible to vote. The electronic ballot is active until 23 July.

Notably, this follows last month’s appointment of Italy, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Switzerland as ICC Associate members, bringing total membership to 106.

What comes next?

  • The election concludes on 23 July, with winners joining the CEC through July 2025
Their work will directly influence ICC support and event inclusion for Associate nations
  • The ICC may also consider further Associate admissions and calendar reforms in the upcoming months

Eight capable candidates are vying for three key roles on the CEC. Their selection could shape funding and competitive opportunities for Associate nations well into the next term. The global cricket community will be watching closely as results are confirmed.
