The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has reassured fans that the much-anticipated Asia Cup clash between Pakistan and India in the UAE is still on track despite speculation of a possible boycott. The tournament, hosted under India’s banner but staged in the UAE from September 9 to 28, has already generated massive buzz, with the first Pakistan–India match set for September 14. A second face-off could follow on September 21, and if both sides reach the final, cricket lovers may even witness a third encounter.

ECB Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed revealed that all participating teams confirmed their entry only after clearance from their respective governments. He admitted no event carries a “100 percent guarantee,” but expressed confidence that fans will get to see the two arch-rivals face off.

Crowds are expected to pack the stadiums, with the ECB ruling out any fears of boycott. Ahmed noted that historically, fans have separated cricket from politics and kept the spirit of the game alive.

Ticketing details, however, remain a burning question. Fake tickets have already surfaced online, forcing the ECB and Asian Cricket Council to issue alerts. Ahmed urged fans to stay patient, promising official ticket sales will open soon through a verified platform with fair prices.

As for seating arrangements, India–Pakistan supporters will sit together in the UAE. Unlike the Pakistan–Afghanistan tri-series in Sharjah, where fans are separated. This is a positive sign of relief and a spread of love through cricket.

The India–Pakistan rivalry is too big to miss despite the noise around it. Stay tuned and watch the Asia Cup action live with tapmad.
