CPL 2026 Eliminator: Mazz Sadaqat's Century Powers Kingsmen Over Tridents
Jamaica Kingsmen advanced to Qualifier 2 of the CPL 2026 after Mazz Sadaqat’s 112 off 49 balls overwhelmed Barbados Tridents in the Eliminator at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown. The Kingsmen completed a nine-wicket victory with 35 balls to spare, ending the Tridents’ campaign.
Sadaqat produced his maiden CPL century in only 44 balls and finished with nine fours and eight sixes. He was eventually caught and bowled by Daniel Sams for 112 in the 14th over, but Jamaica needed only seven runs at that stage.
Kirk McKenzie stayed at the crease throughout the chase, scoring an unbeaten 22 from 34 deliveries. Saim Ayub, who came in after Sadaqat’s dismissal, scored three not out as Jamaica reached 145-1 in 14.1 overs.
The Kingsmen’s chase was set up by Sadaqat’s aggressive start. He reached his fifty from 22 balls and helped Jamaica race to 79 without loss during the Powerplay, leaving the Tridents with little opportunity to defend their total.
Tridents Recover After Early Collapse
Barbados had been in serious trouble at 30-5 after losing half their side inside seven overs. Brandon King and Kevlon Anderson were dismissed early, while Zachary Carter, Shadrack Descarte and Sherfane Rutherford also departed cheaply.
Quinton de Kock and Chris Green then rebuilt the innings with a 114-run partnership. De Kock made 71 from 49 balls, including five fours and two sixes, while Green finished unbeaten on 57 from 44 deliveries, with five fours and a six.
Their stand lifted Barbados to 144-6 from 20 overs, but the total proved insufficient against Jamaica's aggressive response.
Andre Russell led the Kingsmen attack with 2-36, while Hassan Khan, Saim Ayub and Hunain Shah claimed one wicket apiece. The result means the Kingsmen defeated Tridents and will now play Qualifier 2 for a place in the CPL 2026 final.
