Bangladesh Rewrite History After Crushing Pakistan 2-0 In Test Series

Bangladesh Rewrite History After Crushing Pakistan 2-0 In Test Series

Bangladesh walked off the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium with history in their hands and disbelief all around them. Pakistan had started Day 5 needing resistance. Instead, they ran into a storm of pressure, sharp spin, and rising panic.

The Pakistan vs Bangladesh test series ended with Bangladesh winning by 78 runs, sealing a clean 2-0 sweep that few genuinely expected before the first ball was bowled. Gasps echoed around the stadium when the final wicket fell. Bangladesh players sprinted across the field while Pakistan’s dressing room sat frozen.

That one moment flipped everything.

Pakistan resumed the chase with hope still alive. Mohammad Rizwan fought hard for 94, and Salman Ali Agha chipped in with a composed 71, but wickets kept tumbling at the other end. Taijul Islam kept tightening the grip. Every spell carried tension. Every close call dragged the crowd deeper into the contest.

When the scoreboard pushed past 300, Pakistan fans briefly believed the escape was coming. Then Taijul struck again.

Bangladesh dominate key moments

Litton Das played a massive role in the match and looked completely in control across both innings. His first-innings 126 steadied Bangladesh after early trouble, then his brisk 69 in the second innings gave Pakistan another headache. Mushfiqur Rahim added a brilliant 137 later in the game, stretching the lead beyond Pakistan’s comfort zone.

The Bangladesh test series win was built on patience and discipline more than flashy cricket. Bangladesh absorbed pressure better. Their bowlers stayed relentless. Pakistan, meanwhile, kept losing momentum after promising starts.

Babar Azam’s 68 in the first innings raised expectations, no doubt about it. Rizwan battled for nearly four hours in the second dig. Still, Pakistan never looked settled for long stretches. Soft dismissals returned at the worst possible time.

You could feel the tension building with every over.

Nahid Rana and Taijul Islam repeatedly broke partnerships just when Pakistan seemed ready to shift the balance. Taijul finished with six wickets in the final innings, and his celebrations showed exactly how much this meant.

The Pakistan vs Bangladesh test series now leaves serious questions for Pakistan’s management ahead of upcoming assignments. Their batting looked fragile under sustained pressure, while the bowling attack faded during crucial sessions.

For Bangladesh, though, this was about belief. The crowd stayed loud until the very end. Flags waved across the stands. Players hugged near the boundary rope as chants rolled around Sylhet.

The Bangladesh test series win will be remembered for a long time because it felt bigger than one result. Bangladesh outplayed Pakistan session after session and earned every bit of this sweep.
