Apurva Movie Review: A Gripping Thriller

Tara Sutaria has truly proven herself as a powerhouse in her latest thriller, "Apurva." Breaking away from conventional expectations, she flawlessly shoulders the entire film, earning her well-deserved admiration in the industry. The movie, also featuring Rajpal Yadav, Abhishek Banerjee, and Dhairya Karwa, has not only been a critical success but has also resonated with audiences, securing both critical acclaim and commercial triumph.

In this gripping narrative, airing on Disney+ Hotstar, the film aims to convey a feminist message while portraying the strength of a resilient yet vulnerable woman facing a group of ruthless males. The story begins with Apurva dreaming of an ideal life, full of smiles and surprises, only to be thrown into a shocking and intense situation on her lover's birthday in Agra.

Directed and written by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, the film starts strong but loses a bit of momentum along the way. Yet, it makes a compelling comeback in the final moments, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats, eager to see how Apurva plans her escape and whether she succeeds. The diverse gang of four lacks depth, missing an opportunity to comment profoundly on societal issues.

In her action sequences, Tara Sutaria shines with her unique sprinting style and intense expressions. However, there are moments where she stumbles in delivering nuanced emotional scenes as demanded by the script. Despite its flaws, "Apurva" remains a compelling watch, thanks to the stellar performances that carry the film through its highs and lows.
