Pakistan Pacer Ihsanullah Misses PSL 9 Due To Injury

The Multan Sultans, who are five days away from the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), have suffered yet another setback with the announcement that their star fast bowler, Ihsanullah, would not play in the new season.

The PCB has notified the Sultans' owner, Ali Tareen, that Ihsanullah will be out for the entirety of the PSL owing to an injury.

The Exclusion Of Reece Topley

The first blow to the Sultans was delivered earlier today when English bowler Reece Topley was excluded from PSL 9 for failing to receive a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Remarkably, Ihsanullah finished as the second highest wicket taker in PSL 8 with an astounding 22 scalps in 12 innings.

But once the competition was over, the 21-year-old started having elbow pain, which required surgery performed by the PCB under close supervision.

Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi will host PSL 9 matches. On March 18, the final match of the championship will take place in Karachi's National Bank Stadium.

On February 18, the Sultans will host the Karachi Kings to begin their season at home. They will use their home field for five of the games.
