Why is the Sweet Home TV series so popular among the audience?

Why is the Sweet Home TV series so popular among the audience?

It is not surprising to see a K-Drama at the top of Netflix's top 10 watchlist. But it's not hard to imagine why some of us might find it boring to watch a K-drama that isn't really a drama. Sweet Home's thumbnail gives you a clear indication of what to anticipate from it: horror, gory scenes, and blood. And when we say that, we truly mean a lot of blood.

Sweet Home is not your typical zombie series that features flesh-eating, infected humans who operate like coyotes (Train to Busan or Kingdom, anyone? ), although we have all been impressed with how the K-drama scene has outperformed expectations on the zombie-apocalyptic setting that the West has brilliantly mastered. You'll get captivated, just like the rest of us who helped Sweet Home to the number one spot on Netflix, if you stick with the first episode or two. The plot is actually a lot more interesting and original.

The Sweet Home (TV series), which is based on a comic book by Kim Carnby and Hwang Young-chan, depicts the tale of a bizarre virus that causes both illness and "monsterization" in its victims. It certainly is worse than zombies. We follow the story of terrified tenants of a very drab apartment block as they flee vicious assailants and battle for their lives.

Let's go over the reasons why fans of this post-apocalyptic drama become addicted to it and why the few of you left should finally start watching it.

Song Kang went above and beyond in this

Whether or not you've experienced comparable traumatic pasts, Song Kang's portrayal of the meek and shy Cha-Hyun Soo was flawless, and the rise and fall of his image was one that everyone could easily relate to.

We adore Cha Hyun-Soo's ability to appear and act weak, yet his genuineness and inner power always shine through, transforming him into the badass hero he is destined to become. In all seriousness, we cannot picture anyone else playing this role but the charming Song Kang!

Beware of a sinister twist!

The process of "monsterization" that the infected would undergo was thus highlighted. However, to make matters worse (and subsequently more intriguing! ), each human transforms into a unique type of monster. There is a sense of excitement and intrigue about the many monster forms that an infected character might take because no two monsters are alike.

Some of them transform into ferocious giants, others into unsettling one-eyed monsters, and yet others into inoffensive blubbers. You can think of them as dark surprise Pokemon that will make you pee your pants. They do not actually perish so easily, therefore you do indeed need to kill them all.

The visuals are Incredible

A monster-filled series needs amazing visuals to support it in order to succeed, and Sweet Home (TV Series) delivers on that front. The colour scheme of green and red enhanced the sense of foreboding and heightened the protagonists' worries.

However, headed into number 4, the tale itself and how the characters portrayed it is this series' main strengths, so you'll easily be able to look past the CGI for the monsters.

The characters are important

Even though the US is a CGI genius, one can wonder why they stuck with Sweet Home when its CGI could have performed better. Why it still arrived in the USA is not surprising. The first K-drama series to ever have a spot in Netflix's top 10 charts, it ranks in the top 3 on the streaming service. What drew them in? The characters, in my opinion!

Everyone enjoyed Lee Si Young's portrayal of the brave female firefighter, but Lee Do-hyun's leadership and wit were praised throughout the entire series. Who could forget Kim Nam-hee's portrayal of the pious samurai man?  A series with so many characters that are all so different from one another but are nevertheless adored because of how well they work together is unusual.

Seatbelts are required because it's a true rollercoaster

Do you believe that horror fiction can only make you jumpy, then? It appears that during the period of its ten episodes, Sweet Home (TV Series) probably made its viewers experience a wide range of emotions. You can shout, cry, or even close your eyes—there were times when we may have done all three! However, there are also a lot of happy memories to be had here. Overall, it's fantastic in every way.

You're on the edge of your seat, it's frenetic and frightening, and then all of a sudden you're sobbing uncontrollably. Episode after episode appears to end with a surprise, and to me, that is what a good tale should be like. That's why, if you haven't already, you ought to try it. Definitely not amongst the top for no reason!
