Overview of “Gunjal”

Gunjal is a crime thriller movie inspired by a true story of child labour activists Iqbal Masih’s. It's about the murder of Iqbal Masih. He was a 12-year-old Christian child activist. He was killed in 1995 in his village. His mother sold him into bonded labour because of debt. The film starts in 1997 after the uproar about Masih's murder has calmed down.

Review of the Movie

Shahbaz Bhatti is a journalist. He's the main person in the story. He isn't very responsible, skipping legal proceedings and dealing with personal issues. His newspaper is closing. The film is slow and not very dramatic, concentrating on Bhatti's ordinary life.

The story unfolds slowly, showing Masih's background and the events leading to his murder. The movie moves slowly. It doesn't have many exciting moments. It might have been better as a limited series.

Despite some problems, the actors, especially Ahmed Ali Akber, do a good job. The film feels real because it's not too exciting. It doesn't make big issues like child labour and religious minorities too dramatic.

In short, Gunjal is a super-amazing movie to watch. The acting is good, and the film keeps its tone right. If the movie was a little longer. So it could have been a better series. You can watch it in cinemas all over Pakistan. Also, it does not have any age limit.
