Angelina Jolie, renowned Hollywood actor and human rights activist, these days shared her heartfelt challenge over the pressured evacuation of Afghan refugees from Pakistan. In an emotional Instagram post, the Oscar-winning actress expressed her disappointment at the abrupt displacement of over one million Afghan households, who have long found assistance in Pakistan.

 

Inside the put-up, Jolie highlighted Pakistan's historical role in helping Afghan refugee families and shared poignant images of those families fleeing throughout borders, carrying their confined possessions. She lamented the cruel realities faced by refugees in modern-day Afghanistan, where women are again denied basic rights and schooling, with many facing imprisonment amid a deepening humanitarian crisis.

Describing this compelled evacuation as a new tragedy in the extended struggle of the Afghan people, who've continued four decades of war, turmoil, and displacement, Jolie emphasised the gravity of the scenario. She criticised the obvious abandonment of Afghan refugees by the worldwide community, declaring that the continuing evacuation is but another alarming example of the worldwide regression in human rights.

Jolie underscored the disappointment felt after the promises made for a brighter future for the Afghan people, mentioning that these guarantees now seem broken as refugees are left to face uncertain conditions. The actor's post shed mild on the plight of more than 85,000 Afghan nationals who, residing in Pakistan illegally, have crossed the Chaman border into Afghanistan, marking a massive development in the repatriation effort.
